Danger CSI Fingerprint Toy--bad gift!

From our friends at Environmental Working Group:

CSI Fingerprint Toy (dangerous powder included)

Beware if your children put the CSI: Crime Scene Investigation™ Fingerprint Examination Kit on their holiday wish lists.

It doesn't take a sleuth to detect danger in these kits -- the fingerprinting dust contains tremolite, one of the most lethal forms of asbestos.

Even worse, children are supposed to blow on the asbestos-contaminated powder after dusting for fingerprints, which means they will likely inhale lung-damaging, cancer-causing asbestos fibers.

  2. Because it's not illegal! LIke lead in lipstick (and toys). Bush actually wants to CUT staff at the already woefully understaffed Consumer Product Safety Commission. Eeek!

She loves it. We got both - the regular and the ortho style. The ortho nib is a bit smaller and she likes it better. She latched to it right away. It's also, I think, quite a chic pacifier, if one can call a pacifier chic. I love the retro style;) Cheap, too. I'm not sure why all pacifiers aren't just made of rubber!
