AFL-CIO takes on racism

From the Daily Dish:

Confronting Racism Against Obama

A pretty amazing speech by the AFL-CIO's Richard Trumka. To see a white union man take on racism this way is very moving. Something truly profound could happen in this election, if we want it to:

Marie, this is wonderful news. Unfortunately, this election has been terrible for women, or at least has exposed deep rooted misogyny and sexism - both from the left and the right. I hope that people someday will feel equally compelled to take stands on sexism. I do doubt though, that it will come in the direction of Andrew Sullivan.
