Goodbye, Dr. Alan Beer

What a sad day. My doctor, Alan Beer, M.D., passed away suddenly. So suddenly, in fact, that he'd just had time to read my last set of labs (my immune markers, thanks to his treatments, including acupuncture and fish oil--) are finally normal and we are "cleared to conceive" as they say.

Apparently, Dr. Beer just didn't show up for work "as he always did." He anwered my emails practically before I sent them. What a guy. He will be missed. ...

We learned about Dr. Beer's death while sitting at lunch with another couple two days ago... he was such a sweet man. We hope to find another doctor with his caring and intelligence! Farewell Dr. Beer and we know you will R.I.P based on the many "Beer Children" that are now part of this world thanks to your help!

Wow, Roland, I'm happy that you had the privilege of meeting the great Dr. Beer. He was always available to us by phone or email...he acted as if he didn't have 10000000 patients to take care of. I'm feeling very lost without him...do you have a Beer Baby of your own?

best,
marie

Minutes ago I heard of Dr Beer's passing. I am crying as I write this. I have 2-Beer babies. Ages 6 and 3. He is the reason I am a mother today. I met in person with him several times and had probably a hundred emails from him during my two-preganancies. The world is a better place because of Dr. Beer. He was a brave pioneer and will be missed. Fortunately his works will continue on and hopefully lead to hundreds/thousands more Beer Babies. Dr. Beer, you will forever be in my heart.

Thanks so much for sharing, Lori. Yes, Dr. Beer was not only an original thinker--I think his contagious positive attitude had a LOT to do with it.

Take care and please feel free to "drop by" here and add your expertise and good karma!

I just had a feeling to check Dr. Beer's web page last Spring. I was shocked. Dr. Beer was there for me when I was sure there was no way to become a mom. I now have twins, one girl, one boy. He told me that this was really going to happen, when ever I needed him. When I was freaking out, he was calm. He made me going baby shopping. He said I would indead hold live babies. He was right. Thank Dr. Beer, you made my life the way it was meant to be. I am so fortunate to have had you hold my hand through the toughest time of my life.

For anyone to EVER say that Dr. Alan Beer was a "QUACK," let alone leave such a statement anonymously, doesn't have a CLUE about the intelligence this man had, the answers he found for SO MANY OF US who could not have a baby/had several miscarriages, and the dedication this man gave of his life to so many of us while he was here on this earth. I feel sorry for someone like you to say such things about others without understanding was miracles this man brought to so many people's lives. I pray for you, as you obviously will never undertand the devasation of the loss of this man's life to so many of us who were patients of his with little miracles now in our lives- - - because of HIM. He was one of the many angels on earth.

I had ALL five categories wrong, had nine documented miscarriages and Dr. Beer along with Dr. Kwak-Kim and their staff were able to correct all of the issues I had in a litte less than a year's time. We conceived immediately thereafter, and they were able to help us to keep our pregnancy safe and monitored the entire time resulting in the birth of our precious miracle of a baby boy, who is now 4 1/2 years old. We had so many things "against" us and these incredible human beings/doctors and their staff helped us and gave us the most priceless gift - our son. For anyone to ever speak badly about Dr. Alan Beer - - certainly does not understand what miraculous gifts this man shared and left behind for those of us who could not get pregnant or keep a pregnancy - - giving us answers, solutions and beautiful children. I was and still am one of the toughest cases he and his partners/staff has had and I will never ever be able to thank these people enough....ever, for the gift of our beautiful, healthy, priceless son. GOD BLESS HIM and may NOTHING ever be stated badly about this man, his partners or his staff - - as they are all angels on earth. They hold the golden key and the answers so many of us were so desparately seeking.

I am so shocked by his death. He was my hero. After 7 failed IVF's, I had my last IVF with immune treatment prescribed by Dr. Beer. I gave birth to healthy triplets in December 1998. He helped before and through all my pregnacy, always being there for me and... I never paid anything (I was living in the Middle East at that time).
My triplets are here only because of Dr. Beer.
Good-bye, my dear doctor.

We have 2 Beer babies born 3/3/06
So shocked to hear this news. He was a genius who continued to speak his truth despite the conservative, UK medical establishment dissaproval). We will be forever grateful

I was just telling a friend about Dr Beer and pulled up on-line to learn that he had passed away. I am shocked!! After seven miscarraiges in 3 1/2 years and finally then seeing Dr Beer-what a releif. During our "Dr Beer" pregancy, and during an ultrasound, we found out that we had lost one of the twins (at 22 weeks). Dr Beer was my angel in dealing with one of the most difficult times I have had to go through. He spent nearly 3 hours with us. I will miss him. This is a such a great loss to all of us.

THanks for leaving this. I very much think Dr. Beer is still with us in spirit, helping...now he probably has a real halo! Thank you for sharing your story, and sorry for your bittersweet loss and long journey...

My heart falls, two years late, to learn of Dr. Beer's passing. He brought our daughter into the world, now 8 yrs, after all the others said this could not be done. Committed, direct, and always with data and HOPE at hand. He made life possible and we thank you and always will. Jamison

2 years later I just read about Dr. Beer's passing. My husband and I have a Beer baby also. He was born at 29 weeks and weighed 1 lb. 8 oz. He is now 15 (5 ft. 10 in.) and in perfect health. I had a total of 8 miscarriages. He and Dr. Kwah were wonderful. They halped me/us through some dark days. Bless you all.

Like the previous comment, I just found out about Dr. Beer's passing... we have one Beer Baby- aged 5. Without his help, we have no doubt she would not be with us today. He was an amazing man with a wonderful sense of humor and way about him. He is truly missed.

I've heard about Dr.Beer passing away while reading his book last year. As many of you I'm on path to become a mother one day. After reading his book I've started to look for someone here in Canada to do those tests on me. So far no lack. Does anybody know how good is Dr. Kwak who was helping Dr. Beer. Thank you

I had to look up Dr. Beer recently because the new doc I just went to needs to know about me. This has nothing to do with having the daughter (almost 20 years old) but just general health. I was his patient in Michigan and Chicago. (Side note: U-M does not deal in quackery, but invitro was sexier at the time.(1980-89)

We had to transfer from Ann Arbor to Chicago. We had one visit to the clinic in Chicago. On our way out the door he stopped us, and asked how we were doing, and took us into his office while he wrote out the directions we needed to get from the clinic to the airport!! The compassion he showed his patients is sorely lacking in most doctors. He was a great mentch, may his memory be a blessing.

I have a Beer baby born in Jan, 1997. She is now 12 years old. Dr. Beer used to fly in from Chicago to New York, where I received treatment.
I had 4 miscarriages, and I never thought I would ever have a baby. He was a God send!
I checked his web site to see if he was still practicing medicine, and I was so sad
to hear about his passing.

Lori I also had a beer baby in New York in 1997 when he used to fly in. He was such a great man. He really cared you weren't just another number. This is so sad. He is an angel to alot of people. I have a son that will be 12 in two weeks thanks to Dr. Beer.

RIP

Pam

That boy in the bottom left of that picture is me. I'm now 15 years old. My mom had 12 miscarriages but Dr. Beer was able to help my mom and finally she gave birth to me. I owe everything to this man, he's the reason why I'm alive.

Wow, thanks Karl for posting this (p.s., my husband's name is Karl, too)

A few years ago, I chose to study Dr. Beer's published articles dealing with the science of his work for a high school science research class. It was through that research that I learned of his death.

I was naturally shocked, being a Beer Baby, to learn that the doctor most devoted to seeing me have life had passed. Dr. Beer even helped give life to my younger brother, Karl, the boy to the left of Dr. Beer in the picture at the top of this page.

The 18 years of my life thus far have been great. I thank Dr. Beer for giving me that life.

I was saddened to hear of Dr. Beer's death. I just happened to look up his web page and found out. Without Dr. Beer I would not have had my son. NO ONE can ever tell me that Dr. Beer is not responsible for my son being born. He is now 7 and is as bright as ever with no medical problems what so ever. I would encourage everyone who has had multiple miscarriages or pregnancy problems to seek the help of Dr. Beer's practices. Thank God for Dr. Beer, he will be missed.

Wow! Those of us that were fortunate enough to work with Dr. Beer and his staff are forever changed. Most of his patients came from the very edge of despair and his research and therapies enabled us to have children, the greatest blessing a couple can ever have. Our "Beer-babies" are 19 and 17. One is her class Valedictorian and the other is an All State baseball player...their achievements and the love and pride we have for them is only possible because of Dr. Beer.

Dr. Beer was a pioneer and one of the truly great men of science. He also had the biggest heart in the world. He was a clam and caring gentle man with a brilliant mind.
There will never be a way to replace this wonderful person. I knew him for a long time professionally and we knew each other for so long a time that he felt like family. This man will be missed and all of the knowledge and things he had yet to discover will now have to wait for another.
I am very sad at the news of his passing for his wife and family as much as for my own heart.
